It’s not easy standing out in New York City.

Movement, constant and overwhelming.

Bodies, the bold and the beautiful, the hustlers and the hungry, those who just want to get the hell to where they’re going, all scurrying like ants under the shadow of buildings that reach for the cosmos.

Color, vibrant and omnipresent.

Lights, battering the senses, large, loud, and fully in your face for just the briefest of moments before the next set of neon displays wage war in a frantic battle for your attention.

Sound, always at maximum volume.

A chorus of sirens so consistent and persistent that you start to miss it in those rare pauses when it’s not around.

Combine all that into the big, beautiful chaos that is New York City, and you’ll see why it’s not easy to stand out.

Unless you’re wearing Unique Custom Threads by Melissa Crosson and iconic luxury sunglasses from HEED NYC.

After all, if there’s one thing we learned at New York Fashion Week, it’s that when you look like a rock star, heads turn.

Movement slows. It doesn’t stop. It never stops in New York City, but it certainly slows as models Virginia, Rob, Treven, Alanna, and Adaline bring fire, attitude, and unrelenting punk rock swagger right off the runway and into the streets.

Vibrant lights blur into the background, casting neon spotlights on a designer and a gang of rebels she’s chosen for a very special mission:

Rock Times Square

The sirens continue to sing in a frantic chorus. Drivers continue to thump their horns at one another as though communicating through a morse code of madness, but that only adds to the energy.

That energy has been there since sunrise, from the mid-day photoshoot to the phenomenal runway show produced by The Fashion Life Tour featuring other talented SEEN EXPERIENCE designers BoxMethod, Usurper Productions, and the duo of Kevin Tang & Grace Chen.

It was that runway show where the first eyes were cast on ‘Punk It,’ a collection of upcycled designs by Unique Custom Threads inspired by the sights, sounds, and styles of the London punk rock scene.

Now that the show is over, the energy only grows -cranked all the way up to 11, if you will- as those designs and the legends wearing them bring rock ‘n’ roll mayhem to Times Square…

As we write, the party is over but, like punk rock itself, the energy lives on.

You’ll catch it all on Instagram @uniquecustomthreads.

Until then, throw those horns in the air as I shout out the following models, designers, MUAs, and hard-working superstars behind SEEN EXPERIENCE who made this whole thing possible.
